Klein Tulbagh

Die preisgekrönte Range an Reserve-Weinen, bekannt als „Klein Tulbagh“, ist das Premium-Sortiment der Tulbagh Winery. Die Qualität dieser Weine beginnt natürlich in den Weinbergen. Für die Klein Tulbagh-Range wird nur die allerbeste Traubenqualität ausgesucht. In der Kellerei muss dann um so weniger gemacht werden. Der wichtigste Qualitätsaspekt im Keller ist die schonende Gärung, die mit einer langen Maischestandzeit (Traubenhäute auf der Maische) in offenen Separatoren bei Temperaturen zwischen 20-30° C je nach Weinsorte beginnt. Die Traubenhäute werden alle 4 Stunden gewendet und nach der alkoholischen Gärung durchläuft der Wein die malolaktische Gärung. Die Weine reifen dann je nach Rebsorte zwischen 12 bis 24 Monate in Second-Fill-Fässern aus französischer und amerikanischer Eiche.
Trotz des aufwändigen Produktionsprozesses und der langen Reifezeit sind die Premiumweine der Klein Tulbagh-Serie v.a. gemessen an ihrer Qualität echte Schnäppchen. Für uns nicht nachvollziehbar hat man bei Tulbgagh Winery beschlossen, das Label nicht weiter fortzuführen.
