Gall Negre 2017

Benz: The Gall Negre is an ode to the Penedès region. This Merlot embodies pride, discreet beauty, elegance and a noble origin. Gall Negre is an interpretation of the power and diversity of the Penedès wine-growing region: it is also a tribute to the region's native black rooster Penedes. With a dark cherry red color, this wine shows an intense and very soft palate. Spicy black fruit notes combine with ripe aromas and perfectly integrated tannins. The complexity of the wine gives it the power of a certain longevity and goes perfectly with game dishes and hearty meat stews.

Obwohl sich die Familie traditionell dem Weinanbau in La Granada verschrieben hatte, begannen Josep Maria Ferré i Catasús und seine Frau Sònia Serrano Quetglas bei null, indem sie in den 1980er-Jahren mehrere Güter in verschiedenen Gebieten der DO Penedès kauften und Trauben an mehrere Kellereien verkauften.

Ab den 1990er-Jahren begann der Traum von der Schaffung einer eigenen Marke mit dem Bau des neomodernen Bauernhauses Masía Gustems in der Nähe der Straße von Vilafranca nach Sant Sadurní.

Zu Beginn des 21. Jahrhunderts wurde der Keller auf den neuesten Stand der Technik gebracht und das Weingut mit einer neuen Marke lanciert.
Neben dem außergewöhnlichen Image des Unternehmens basiert die Marke auf einem ehrlichen Produktionsprozess, der Qualität anstrebt: Sie arbeiten nur mit Trauben, die auf den fast fünfzig Hektar ihrer eigenen Weinberge geerntet werden.
