Benz: Boplaas Small Batch Single Grain Whiskey, matured in old bourbon casks and finished in old brandy casks - a whiskey that most palates will enjoy On the palate the whiskey is smooth and luxurious with a sweetness that develops into a mouth-warming sensation of buttered bread and dried fruit. Its finish is dry with a gentle, lingering note of oak sawdust.

Boplaas Family Vineyards

Boplaas befindet sich in Calitzdorp, einem kleinen malerischen Dorf am südlichen Kap in der majestätischen Little Karoo. Familie Nel ist Teil eines reichen Vermächtnisses, welches mehr als 150 Jahre zurückreicht.
Die Geschichte der Besitzerfamilie Nel reicht zurück bis zur Zeit, als die Hugenotten nach Südafrika kamen und die Familie Nel 1690 die Blaauwklippen Farm in Stellenbosch kaufen.


„Boplaas“ heisst die höher gelegene (bo) Farm (plaas).


Boplaas ist ein Familienunternehmen mit Carel Nel als Cape Wine Master, Besitzer und Kellermeister. Das Weingut hat im Laufe des letzten Jahrzehnts zahlreiche Auszeichnungen für die Cape Vintages und als Weinerzeuger insgesamt erhalten.

2017 begann Daniel Nel mit der Whiskey Produktion und sein Boplaas Single Grain Whisky gewann den Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Award 2018.
