Oak Valley Estate wurde 1898 von Sir Antonie Viljoen gegründet, einem Arzt, der an der Edinburgh University in Schottland graduierte.
Sir Antonie wurde Senator im Cape Parliament und wurde 1916 von King George für seine Bemühungen, die Buren und Briten in den bitteren Folgen des Burenkriegs zu versöhnen, zum Ritter geschlagen.
Weit über ein Jahrhundert ist seit den bahnbrechenden Errungenschaften von Sir Antonie vergangen, und heute liegt Oak Valley im Herzen des Elgin Valley, das für seine Äpfel und Birnen bekannt ist.
Die Weine von Oak Valley zeichnen sich durch den Einfluss des Grönlandbergs auf ihre Weinberge aus. Stilistisch spiegeln die Weine unser kühles Klima wieder, geprägt von Frische, Nachhaltigkeit und Reinheit der Frucht, Eleganz und Feinheit in der Struktur.
Sie werden mit zunehmendem Alter Bestand haben und an Komplexität gewinnen.
Das Weingut konzentriert sich fast ausschließlich auf Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay und Pinot Noir.
