The wine shimmers cherry red in the glass. Red fruits and white flowers tickle your nose. Cocoa with hints of pepper and clove. Generous, dry with a lively acidity. Gingerbread flavors, dark chocolate, with a long, elegant finish.
“Our winegrowing culture follows ecological and biodynamic practices. They support a balanced, rich and diverse environment,” says Friedrich Schatz.
The soil is supplied with nutrients via the natural cycle, i.e. the vine wood, as well as pomace and yeast residues, are returned to the vineyard via biodynamic compost. The main nutrient removal is compensated for by spreading compost on the one hand and green manure on the other.
The yield is limited with laborious manual work. Frequent interventions on green cuttings to achieve a loose, well-divided foliage wall. This increases the quality of the grapes and at the same time has a strong preventative effect against possible fungal and disease infestation.
Plant protection takes place exclusively using ecological and biodynamic means.
